Digging into the Word

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” – John 1:1-5

Shawn Culver

Shawn Culver leads a Bible study on Wednesday nights at 6:30. They are reading through the Bible in chronological order, and are currently exploring the Old Testament prophets as they tell a story of desolation and restoration.

Shawn also leads an adult Sunday School class at 11:15 a.m. most Sundays. This group is reading and discussing Brian McLaren’s “Church on the Other Side: Exploring the Radical Future of the Local Congregation.”

We have a variety of Sunday School offerings for kids of all ages, and those are always changing and growing to fit the needs of our kids, who are also growing and changing. Currently, we have a class for pre-K students and a combined middle-school/high-school offering.  There are also two classes for elementary school students; one is designed to help younger kids get accustomed to Sunday School and learn the basics of the faith, while the other helps older kids gain a sense of Biblical literacy that can be part of the foundation of a lifetime of faith.

If you have any questions about Sunday School or other educational offerings, contact our Sunday School superintendent Cheryl Leggans at cherdol@hotmail.com.
