Leading the Way

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of the one who called you out of darkness and into marvelous light.” – 1 Peter 2:9

Presbyterians affirm the doctrine of the ‘priesthood of all believers.’ We believe that all people are called to ministry, and that each one of us who are joined to the church are God’s ministers to the world. Some people are called to certain kinds of ministry—to special functions within the life of the church—and those people are featured on this page.

Dean Culver is our Music Minister. He loves to play music from the repertoire of Kansas and Rod Stewart, and we encourage him. Has he told you lately that he loves you?

MUSIC LEADERCheryl Leggans is our Sunday School superintendent. She also delivers the children’s message and leads the singing during Sunday morning worship.

Chris Heumader is our Clerk of Session. He keeps the paperwork in order, makes sure we’re doing things by the book, and is just generally the glue that holds everything together.

Sue Heumader is our Treasurer. She keeps an eye on the money and makes sure the books are in good working order. She also takes the lead on all financial transactions.

Our session is composed of Shawn Culver, Dean Culver, Sue Heumader, Becky Evans, Maudie Montgomery, and Marty Foster. In the Presbyterian church, members of the session are referred to as ‘Ruling Elders,’ because they’re the ones who are really in charge of the day-to-day operation of the church.

KELLY PLUMMEROur deacons’ board is moderated by Kelly Plummer. Deacons care for the poor, visit the sick, and take a leading role in organizing fellowship for the church. Our deacons are Christy Leggans, Kathryn Harbison, Kelly Plummer, Nicky Cooper-Liechti, and Rox Ann Gann.
