Meeting Each Other

The youth group meets on Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. It is open to youth of all ages. Currently, the group is working on crafts, lessons, and games that will lead to dramatic presentations of Biblical stories on Sunday morning—they’re learning the stories of the Bible so they can teach the stories of the Bible. Feel free to call the church office at (816)279-0916 for more details.

The Women’s Association meets on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. for food, fun, and fellowship. They also plan events for the church and administrate the Ruth Taylor Memorial Education Fund, which provides monetary help for students from middle school on up. For more information, e-mail Robin Thornton at

We also have fellowship each Sunday morning at 9:30, when we gather around donuts in the Fellowship Hall, and there’s a special fellowship event each month. We have movie nights and talent shows and potluck suppers—anything we can do to laugh at ourselves and get to know each other better!

This is a video of Maxwell Heights folks in the 2013 north side parade, celebrating the north end of St. Joe!  Our float is a painstakingly crafted miniature version of the church with a working bell. We put a lot of work into it, but for some reason, the kids were more interested in the candy.
